Skills Bootcamp training opens doors for both employers and employees. Providing intensive training (12-16 weeks) with a combination of online and physical learning, participants get a real feel for the jobs they are preparing for through the programme and can learn key skills to continue pursuing a career in the PEMD and electech sector. Employers get a chance to interview and recruit people straight from the skills bootcamps, knowing that the participants have the required know-how to go forward and hit the ground running.

The aim is to provide high quality training by industry professionals or trainers who already have many years experience within the sector and use their knowledge to give new skills to anyone interested in filling the gap and learning more about PEMD.

No previous experience will be required to participate in skills bootcamp training as participants will be matched by their ability to suitable roles with employers during the programme, but some previous technical knowledge would come in handy at a basic level. For more advanced levels bootcamps can provide a bridge between different stages of a career – such as graduates who wish to move into industry.

Tech Lancaster has previously delivered skills bootcamps for electech employers in the north west England region and plans to run further bootcamps in electech and PEMD in autumn 2022.
